Wildfire and Fire Restrictions

• The National Park Service reported that Yosemite’s Dome Fire had reached 4,809 acres and 30% containment as of September 27, with 781 personnel assigned. The fire grew 311 acres since the prior morning, while no roads, buildings, or utilities were under immediate threat.

Trail and Access Closures

• Yosemite officials said Glacier Point Road is closed because of smoke and firefighting operations. The Chilnualna Falls trail, trails from the top of Chilnualna Falls toward Buena Vista and Crescent Lakes, Ostrander Trail, and all areas and trails south of Ostrander are closed. The Four Mile and Panorama trails remain open to hikers.

Water Safety

• FOX40 News reported that 37-year-old Yuba City resident Karmagit Singh drowned while kayaking in Clear Lake, California. Authorities said he was not wearing a personal flotation device when recovered, and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office reminded boaters, kayakers, and paddleboarders to wear a life jacket.
