"The 20% Rule"
A common guideline is that your fully loaded backpack should not exceed 20% of your body weight for a multi-day hike and 10% for a day hike.
Example: If you weigh 150 lbs (68 kg), your backpack should be ≤30 lbs (14 kg) for a multi-day hike.
