I went wreck fishing once, and let’s just say it was an adventure. Picture this: we’re out in the middle of the ocean, with nothing but waves and the promise of big fish hiding around a sunken shipwreck. I’m sitting there, rod in hand, feeling like a seasoned angler ready to conquer the deep sea.

But then came the waves. Big ones. Suddenly, the boat was rocking like it was in a theme park, and my stomach was on its own roller coaster. I tried to focus on fishing, but every time I felt a tug, I’d be more worried about losing my lunch than catching the fish.

Finally, after a long battle with the ocean (and my inner sea sickness), I reeled in a fish. It wasn’t the giant trophy I had imagined, but a small, stubborn wreck fish that had clearly been laughing at my efforts the whole time.

Did I win? Not really. But I survived, I caught something, and I’m pretty sure I’ll never forget the ride!

Ever had a wreck fishing adventure that turned into more of a rollercoaster than you expected?

I scuba dove a shipwreck on my first-ever non-pool dive.  It was quite the contrast pivoting away from a Buffalo hotel scuba training pool to a shipwreck in the Cayman Islands.  The water was almost completely transparent.  I didn't see many fish but I'd be interesting in trying to fish a shipwreck.
