I chuckle to myself every time I open the Urban Hiking topic and post about Vermont. However, Montpelier, Vermont's capital "city" has a really cool trail that leads to an old watchtower. The Stone Tower Trail in Hubbard Park. I hiked this trail before one of my concerts while on tour last fall. There were a few different parking lots along the hill the park sits on so you could really customize how long you wanted to be hiking or how much of an incline you wanted to deal with. I opted for an easier version because I hadn't even really intended on hiking that morning, we just sort of stumbled upon the trail as something to do. It was a nice little break from the travel and business of touring and we had a lot of fun atop the watchtower, imagining we were living in the past and looking out for enemies.
