If you're ever in Northern California, I recommend a trip to Lassen National Park. The crown jewel of the park is Lassen Summit. Standing at 10,457 feet, Lassen Summit is surprisingly easy to scale. The hike is about 2 1/2 hours from bottom to top. If you push it hard, you can make it in 1 1/2 hours. Once you're at the top, you get a great view of Lassen Park, Sacramento Valley, Mount Shasta, and other natural features.
