I have been very fortunate to snowboard all over the country. As much as I would love to, I haven't really embarked on international snowboard trips. I have a group of friends that puts together an annual ski/snowboard trip, and I'm usually along for the ride, but I don't play any role in picking each year's destination.
This year, the group landed on Mont Tremblant, a little ski village just northwest of Montreal in Quebec. I didn't do much research ahead of time, as there was really no need. I knew no matter where we ended up, I would be strapping in and bombing the slopes. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised upon arrival! I can not recommend this resort town enough. If you are searching for a great mountain for a trip for friends, family, or even coworkers, this is an incredible choice.
The mountain itself is placed smack in the middle of town. Some trails literally take you right to the bottom of the village, and the main gondola is located in the heart of it all. The mountain itself gets plenty of natural snow, offers beautiful views, and provides plenty of trails for every skill level. If you love glade skiing or off-piste riding, Mont Tremblant is full of it. With 754 skiable acres, so many of them are riddled with trees. It's so varied that there are tree-riding options for everyone from green to double-black lovers. Over 2000 ft vertical drop and a really balanced mix of trails for all styles of skiers and snowboarders.
This was a great place to go with a group of people with a mix of skill levels because the mountain had plenty for everyone. This is the type of place where everyone can spread out and do their own thing, but also meet up easily throughout the day. Even better than that, there is so much to do for those who don't wish to ski or ride. The village itself has an excellent mix of cuisine options- mouthwatering steakhouses, classic French cafes, and a wide selection of international choices. There is great shopping to be had all within a short walking distance through the very quaint, very European pedestrian village. From kitschy souvenir shops to designer winter wear, once again Mont Tremblant boasts its extremely varied range. There is a casino, a fantastic spa, ice skating, and tubing just a few minutes away from the village. Public transportation is easy to come by, making all of it effortless, convenient, and super fun!
It was the best winter trip and it will be my go-to recommendation for those looking from now on!
