The winter is coming to a close, and the ski season is ending, if not over. At least in the Northeast, it is. Let's take a second to reminisce about the best moment of this season.

I haven't had a ski day in probably five years. (Fortunately, all our ski clothes still fit and our skis weren't too badly in disrepair.) So my bar is relatively low. My favorite day was last month, with my wife, Whitney, at a small mountain called West Mountain. We had chilly, sunny, later winter conditions. We were gifted lift tickets from a friend and enjoyed zero crowds, just the locals. We skied almost all day. It was fun to go fast again, but I really enjoyed watching Whitney ski. Afterward, we had to check out the lodge bar. All in all, the day was so casual, fun, and low commitment. Such a different experience after growing up skiing out West.

I'd be psyched to hear your favorite moment.

Great question!

My favorite day was at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY. I grew up riding this place. I mean literally, multiple times a week for years and years of my life. But the last time I was back? Ohhh, 13-14 years ago, if I had to guess. What's even more special is that I really only get one weekend a year that I get to ride with my siblings, since we are scattered all over the country. This year, all of us got to ride our old stomping grounds together. My brother would have been in middle school, maybe elementary school the last time we were all there at the same time. It was not just my favorite ski memory of the season, but maybe my favorite memory of the whole year.
