                    One of my favorite hiking snacks is GORP or trail mix. I grew up calling it GORP in Girl Scouts and have been enjoying carrying on that tradition when I work with my troops. I love GORP because you can get sooo creative with it and make many different versions. It's also such an easy snack to carry on the trail. Some of my favorite things to add are wasabi peas, different dried fruits (like plantains), and peanut butter or butterscotch chips. Do you have any awesome custom GORP recipes? Share them here!

                    I am a sucker for seeds. My GORP is like bird feed. They gotta be roasted/salted.
- pumpkin seeds
 - sunflower seeds
 - butternut squash seeds
 
If we are talking dried fruit, I go with...
- apricots
 - mango
 - raisins
 
For my sweet tooth, I love:
- chocolate or yogurt-covered anything... cherries, espresso beans, raisins, pretzels etc
 - crystallized ginger!
