Hey everyone,

I wanted to start a discussion about lead climbing—whether you're just getting into it, pushing your limits, or a seasoned leader with years of experience.

For those new to lead climbing, what are your biggest fears or challenges? Clipping awkwardly? Managing lead falls? Finding the right belayer?

For experienced climbers, what tips would you give to someone making the transition from top-roping to lead? Any hard lessons learned or game-changing techniques?

Personally, I remember my first few lead climbs being mentally tougher than physically. Trusting my gear and committing to moves above my last clip was a challenge, but over time, I learned to stay calm and trust the process. Also, learning to take (and give) dynamic belays was a huge confidence booster!

Let’s hear your thoughts—favorite lead climbing routes, biggest breakthroughs, scariest whippers, or must-know skills. What has helped you the most in progressing as a lead climber?

Looking forward to some great insights!

Climb on!
