Purgatory Chasm State Reservation in Sutton, MA is one of my favorite places to spend a day on the trail. Though the name makes it sound daunting, it's not all that challenging. It's a popular place for families to bring children, letting them enjoy scrambling over the rocks and checking out the different formations. I unfortunately always end up there when it is super busy, but I'm looking forward to getting there in the off season while there's a few weeks left of it. I've always really loved geology and trails with cool rock features, so I can really get lost in the sights, just looking around while here. Looking at the rock formations sparks my imagination and I like to create different stories about them in my head. If you're ever in Massachusetts, I highly recommend checking out Purgatory Chasm!
