The White Mountains area in New Hampshire is home to an awful lot of beautiful and historic landmarks. Diana's Baths is an awesome spot to check out on adventures to the area because it doesn't require a huge time or effort commitment. Located on the outskirts of North Conway, there's plenty to do and see right nearby.
The hike itself is super easy—only about 0.6 miles on a well-maintained, mostly flat trail. It’s great for families, casual hikers, or anyone who just wants to enjoy a quick nature escape. Once you reach the falls, you’ll find a mix of small cascades, smooth rock ledges, and shallow pools, all fed by Lucy Brook. In the summer, it’s an awesome spot to dip your feet, climb around the rocks, or just sit back and listen to the rushing water.
As for history, Diana’s Baths were once home to a small water-powered sawmill built by the Lucy family in the 1860s. You can still see remnants of the old mill foundation near the falls, which adds a little historic charm to the area.
The one thing that's important to note is that it gets SUPER busy during the warmer months. Typically if you're there very early in the morning or later in the evening, it isn't quite so bad, but midday on summer weekends, it is absolutely packed. It's often difficult to fit in the parking lot, and there is nowhere else to park on the windy road that leads there, so if that happens, you have no choice but to come back. I've seen cars lined up waiting on the road, but this is just a mess, and not worth it. If you find yourself in that predicament, go check out one of the other nearby attractions and come back!
Definitely do come back, though. It's a really special spot 🤗
