Hey all!
I'm so excited to be going to Costa Rica in a little over a month. I have dreamt of visiting for over a decade, and the timing is finally right! Naturally, there are some key things I plan to check off - volcanoes, waterfalls, rainforests, and sandy beaches.
I want to save time to enjoy this beautiful country on foot as much as possible, so while I have some hikes picked out, I'd love to hear suggestions from those who have already visited. What hikes are not to be missed during my time in the land of Pura Vida??
That sounds amazing! We visited Costa Rica last year, and it was such an incredible trip. The locals were very welcoming once we got past the airport, and we really enjoyed our time there.
We mostly stayed at the resort but ventured out for two days of adventure -- ziplining and whitewater tubing were definitely the highlights for us.
One thing we wish we had done differently was spending more time in the cloud forest—it was absolutely breathtaking, but we were on a schedule and had to leave sooner than we would have liked. If you have the chance, it’s definitely worth setting aside extra time to explore!
Getting there was an adventure in itself! We took a treacherous road in our rental car, only to discover on the way down that there was a much more developed road we should have taken. Lesson learned! 😅
@mlotziii Haha I suppose there's always some of that "learning as you go" with any travel. I definitely hope to spend some time doing that - thanks for the tip!
