This is my biggest pet peeve in nature - no joke. The most obnoxious thing you can encounter when hiking, snowboarding, fly fishing, etc. is someone with a speaker strapped to their pack, blaring music for everyone in earshot. This is NOT acceptable, and 100% goes against Leave No Trace principles.
Principle 7 says to "Be Considerate of Others." Excessive noise that takes away from the sounds of nature is a key metric of this 7th principle. Word to the wise- if you're spending time outside, and you prefer the sounds of the Top 20 over the birds and the breeze, keep it in your headphones 😎
**Campgrounds are sometimes an exception, but read the room. If you're in a peaceful and serene setting, keep the volume low to keep it fair to the other campers!
PREACH! 🤩
Absolutely agree with this, and I'm a musician!! I love music in all aspects of my life, but on the trail or out in nature pleeeeeeease keep it to yourself!! Same with campgrounds! I've had to quiet down more rowdy campsites than I can count and it is literally the worst experience, for everyone involved!
