Recently I've been working on a program to help Girl Scouts earn their Flowers badge and one of the components is learning about Victorian Flower Code. I have been having so much fun exploring this concept. It’s a fascinating historical tradition where different flowers were used to convey secret messages. Since public displays of affection were often frowned upon, people would send flowers to express emotions like love, jealousy, or admiration. Each flower had a specific meaning- red roses for passionate love, lilies for purity, etc. As Spring wildflowers pop up from the ground, I've been imagining them as the Earth speaking to me in her own Flower Code!
