One of my goals this year is to share more of my poetry, so I thought I'd share some here that I've written during outdoor adventures. This one is called "Juniper Tree" and I wrote it while in Arches National Park a few years back.
Juniper Tree
I found the Earth most beautiful
in a place where she was
crumbling, cracked,
reddened, and scarred.
I treat my internal deserts with the same wonder and awe,
marveling at the resilience and magnificence
of the life growing there,
in a place so twisted,
defiant,
and raw.
Yessss girl!! Keep the poetry coming.....this really takes me back to the first time I encountered a Juniper tree in the SW corner of Colorado! Love the visual!
