I know I've posted about pokeweed ink and dye before, but did you know you can do it with your kitchen scraps too? I love composting, but I also love that I can be creative and sustainable with this craft. My favorite dyes to make are avocado, onion, and coffee. Avocado creates a really beautiful blush pink, onion makes yellow, and of course coffee creates a creamy brown hue. I've dyed bandanas, tee shirts, baby clothes, pillowcases, everything! It's easiest to do this with cotton and there is a fabric treatment process that helps the colors survive washes. The blue in this photo was made with black beans. Would you rock some naturally dyed clothing?

Girl - you are awesome! Keep the creative uses of plants coming! 👍

I would love to hear more about this! Can you explain how you make the dye?
