There’s something magical about cabins tucked deep in the wilderness. Last fall, I stayed in a small cabin in the Adirondack Mountains, far from the nearest town or even cell service. The moment I arrived, the quiet of the forest surrounded me—no traffic, no chatter, just the sound of wind through the trees and birds overhead.

The cabin was simple—wooden floors, a small kitchen, and a cozy wood stove. As the evening chill set in, I built a fire, wrapped up in a blanket, and watched the flames dance. The sky outside was so clear, I could see the Milky Way stretching across the heavens.

The days were spent hiking nearby trails, fishing in the lake, and exploring the surrounding woods. With no distractions, it was easy to reconnect with the earth and my own thoughts. Sometimes, you don’t need luxury—just a little cabin, a beautiful view, and the peace of nature.

What’s your favorite thing about staying in a cabin?
