I grew up in LA and immersed in a Latino/Dodger culture. (which is actually very complex, considering the origins of Dodger Stadium.)
As a kid, I remember doing a book report about the legendary Roberto Clemente. I was fascinated by his MLB come up story and his tragic death.
Just last year, I was at a Dodger game with my family where the entire stadium took a moment of silence to honor the deceased Mexican pitcher Fernando Valenzuela and his family. It was powerful.
Today, I was doing some reading about the influence of Latinos on baseball. I learned that "Latino players make up one of the largest groups in professional baseball. On the opening day of the 2024 season, of the 949 players, 226 (nearly a quarter) were born in Latin America."

Were you aware that "America's favorite pastime" was so diverse?
