Spent the weekend at the range fine-tuning my bow setup and working on consistency at longer distances. I’ve been pushing my limits, practicing 50- and 60-yard shots, and it’s crazy how much of a difference minor adjustments make.
One of the biggest improvements came from focusing on my anchor point and follow-through. I used to drop my bow arm too soon, but keeping it steady after release has tightened up my groups a lot. Also tested out some new broadheads to get ready for the upcoming whitetail season—always a good reminder that field points and hunting setups shoot differently.
Who else is in full-on bowhunting prep mode? Any tips for refining accuracy at longer distances?
Great points here! I would agree with the follow-through. That was my biggest mistake for years!! Have fun out there!
As a beginner archer, I love reading these tips on form. I'll be helping instruct Girl Scouts in basic archery this year and am nervous, but excited. I've really been enjoying my training and getting my certification. I'm looking forward to nicer weather so I can set up a practice range in my yard.
